Dr. D'Alterio graduated from Rutgers University in 1993. After graduation, he attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. During his time there, he obtained clinical honors in his 3rd year internship. During his fourth year, he obtained clinical honors in every rotation he attended--which included primary care/emergency eyecare, ocular disease, pediatrics, and hospital-based optometry. During his fourth year, he rotated through the Greenville Eye Clinic and Optometric Eye Care Center in Greenville, NC. He also rotated through the Lyons VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ , and The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. D'Alterio graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1997, where he was president of his graduating class. He was elected to the prestigious Gold Key Honor Society.
After graduation, he completed his residency at The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During his residency, he worked in many specialties such as Cornea/External Disease, Glaucoma, Retina, Emergency Eye Care, Primary Care, and Oculoplastics. After completing his residency, he continued to work at the college, as a clinical instructor--directly supervising second, third, and fourth year students. At that time, he joined Susskind & Almallah Eye Associates. During his time at Susskind & Almallah, Dr. D'Alterio continued to be a clinical preceptor for the Pennsylvania college of Optometry. He mentored first and forth year students, as they would rotate through the practice.
Dr. D'Alterio has been on staff at Susskind & Almallah since 1999. In his free time, Dr. D'Alterio likes to visit the beach, play and coach sports, and spend time with his wife and three children.
