Dr. Erik Mohaber is a graduate of the State University of New York, Stony Brook campus, where he received his bachelors degree. He received his doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. While attending, he served as class officer and was a volunteer for the SOSH humanitarian mission to Guatemala. There he provided eye care to the people of the Peten region. He completed his externships with the college's Eye Institute and two additional externships in Ocular Pathology at the Newngton VA in Conneticut and Seidenberg & Protzko Eye Associates of Maryland. Dr. Mohaber then went on to continue his education with a residency in Primary Care/Low Vision at the West Haven VA, where he worked in numerous settings including the Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Clinic. During his residency Dr. Mohaber worked with the Yale Department of Ophthalmology and attended Grand Rounds with that department. Prior to becoming an optometrist, Dr. Mohaber achieved the highest honor with the Boy Scouts of America and became an Eagle Scout. He still enjoys camping and world travel and is still actively involved with the New Jersey Boy Scouts. He will also be going to needy countries to provide free eye care for those less fortunate. Dr. Mohaber practices with Susskind & Almallah Eye Associates in our Marlboro, Toms River, and Whiting offices offering routine eye exams, contact lens fits, laser vision correction evaluations and a variety of general eye care services. |
