Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery

Ocean and Monmouth Counties, NJ

Cosmetic eyelid surgery is a wonderful way to regain a youthful appearance.  As we age, gravity and our facial expressions gradually cause sagging and puffiness in the upper and lower eyelids which creates a tired look even when we are not tired.  By removing this excess skin and fatty tissue, eyelids can be revitalized and look refreshed.
Dr. Omar Almallah offers patients the confidence of over twenty years experience in refractive and cosmetic surgery.   After eyelid surgery, Dr. Almallah sometimes incorporates the use of Botox and/or Juvederm to give his patients a complete and replenished look.

Eyelid Consultation

Patients are encouraged to call our office and inquire about our services.  If you are interested in an eyelid evaluation, please contact our Refractive Director, Ed Brooks, for scheduling options.  The consultation is approximately thirty minutes and is complimentary.  The "no-charge" consultations apply only to those patients interested in cosmetic surgery and improving their appearances.  In some cases, eyelid surgery is medically necessary and can be a covered service under your medical insurance.  Such cases are handled by our other Board Certified ophthalmologist, Thomas Pidduck, M.D., FACES. The medical name is blepharoplasty and it can be performed on both upper and lower lids if necessary.

Recovery from Eyelid Surgery

When your surgery has been completed, your doctor will apply an antibiotic ointment and perhaps a dressing.  There may be some swelling and bruising, however, in about a week or so this will subside.

  • Your doctor will schedule several follow-up appointments to monitor your recovery.
  • He will also provide you with instructions as to when you may resume your normal activities and exercise.
  • You should wear dark sunglasses until your healing is complete.
  • Your doctor will instruct you on post operative care and future appointments.
  • The small incisions that are made in the upper eyelid crease will barely be noticeable. They are hidden by the natural creases in the eyelid.

The difference in your appearance will be evident very soon after surgery.  In several weeks you'll be able to see how rejuvenated you look.  Of course, we never stop aging, but the clock has now been set back considerably for you as this is a long lasting facial enhancement. For more information and scheduling, please contact Ed Brooks at (732) 349-5622 ext 37 Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.
