Thomas C. Pidduck, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist who has studied and trained with some of the
most prominent refractive surgeons on the East
Coast of the United States.
He graduated from Georgetown University School
of Medicine. Following a medical internship at
George Washington University Medical Center, he
was ranked in the top 2% of all applicants to the
George Washington University Ophthalmology
program. His clinical and leadership skills were
soon recognized and he was appointed Chief
Resident at both the West Virginia and District of
Columbia campuses.
During his residency he developed an interest in refractive surgery and became part of a
group of pioneers who performed the first Photo Refractive Keratectomy (PRK) after
the Excimer Laser was approved in 1995. In 1998, he was uniquely the first and only
resident to perform (PRK).
After his residency, he completed a year of fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive
Surgery. During this time, Dr. Pidduck gained great insight into Laser Vision Correction
(LASIK) as a practitioner and as a LASIK patient himself. His extensive knowledge and
varied experiences with Laser Vision Correction provide his patients with a real sense of
reassurance.
Dr. Pidduck enjoys sharing his experiences through teaching and has taught medical
students, interns, residents, optometrists and ophthalmologists in addition to counseling
his own patients about the advantages of LASIK. He is a member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Pidduck is very active in the community and also enjoys the time he spends with his
wife Alice and their two young children in and around their home in Point Pleasant Beach.
